Celebrating the Obvious

Okay first let me say I am relieved the Phillies finally got something going and although it was a stressful game they won.  They are back home as of this morning and I’m just hoping they’ve got that lovin’ feeling again because this is all just too stressful for me.  It’s a stupid kind of stressful too because lets face it whether they boys win or lose I still have to go to work in the morning.
Today I celebrate the fact that my two day separation from the one I love is over.  I can’t wait to get home and hug my honey.  It’s only been two days but as I whined blogged about yesterday I was away last weekend and then she was “away” two days this week.  I just love spending time with her.  Not in a creepy I’m stalking you kind of way but in a I love you and you make my day a whole lot brighter.  Wait…isn’t that a Brady Bunch Song?  Point is I get to see my love tonight!  Yeah for me!!!
I’ve been having an odd week this week and I’m glad it’s almost over.  Seriously it’s like Dude Where’s My Car but without the car or that cool scene at the take out place…’and then?’
In other news…LiLo was NOT sent back to jail for her probation violations.  The Judge sent her back to rehab for a mandatory 30 days.  You know unless the Judge decides like last time mandatory 90 day stint to end it like 3 weeks in.  You know cause 3 weeks is long enough to kill the addiction that has been plaguing our young heroin heroine.   Poor LiLo.  Lets face it folks it’s been a slow news day.

Missing My Puzzle Piece

Bean and I are having conflicting schedules this week and of course I was away last weekend with the girls.  I feel like I’m a puzzle missing my piece.

It’s not that I can’t be away from her doing my own thing (or her away from me doing her own thing)…it’s that I just love being with her.  For me a perfect evening is sitting on the sofa and we are both reading.  It’s that her presence gives me a calmness I’ve never had before.  Sometimes I just look at her smiling and I wonder how I got so lucky to have met her.

My life is amazing and I wish everyone out there had just an nth of this feeling I have inside because we’d all want to hug each other…but not in a creepy inappropriate way.

In other news: WTH is going on with the Phillies.  Boys lets snap out of it!  Mama needs a World Series win!

LET’S GO PHILLIES!!!!

The Weekend I Went Outside

Bean and I were on the go this weekend.  It was a beautiful weekend and outside was the place to be.  On Saturday,  we hung out with Bean’s parents…Mr. & Mrs. Bean.  I heart them because they are really nice 😉

Art Festival

On Sunday,  we decide to forego the frenzy of Town for Outfest and headed to a local corner of Town to an Art Festival.  Honestly though it might as well been Outfest the Annex because my people were everywhere!  Well done people!  It was a nice day for a stroll and I took in many sights.

Ah...Happy Hour!!!

The Celebrities were out in full force!

Puppies were everywhere!

Are you serious???? I think you could have gotten closer!

And the highlight for us was…

Books, Books, Books!!!

It was a blast but boy was I tired…Once my head hit the pillow…ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

p.s.  CONGRATULATIONS PHILLIES!!!

Are They Balls?

This was the question I had for Bean as we were driving along the main drag by my house.  There was this pick-up truck in front of us with these things swinging back and forth on the hitch that look a lot like testicles.   They were in fact testicles swinging in the breeze on the back of that truck.  Luckily Bean was quick with the photo shot because as I turned down a road I didn’t need to be on so I could follow said truck she was able to take the picture.

May I present to you some art for the ages…I call this “Dangling Testicles Blowing In The Breeze”.

Balls...Balls...Balls

If you’ve lost your balls please call the Pennsylvania DMV…they should be able to help you find them 😉  Yes…I went there!

p.s.  GO PHILLIES!!!

The Boys of Summer!

The End

The Phillies lost last night in game 6 of the world series but you know it’s okay.  The thing about Philly Phans is that when you lose that’s okay too.  It sucks sure but it’s not the end of the world.  We had something that the NY Yankees don’t…Awesome Phans.  While watching the game last night I couldn’t help but notice that there were so many seats with no one in them.  So even though the Yankees were in the World Series they just couldn’t pull in the “faithful” to come cheer them on in their own house…how sad 😦

The Fightin’ Phils had some records thanks to Chase Utley so we made our mark on the Series and no one can take that away from us.  There is next year and if TPTB are super smart they’ll find the money to keep Cliff Lee around a couple of more seasons.

So you boys of summer we’ll see you in April and another chance to take home the rings 🙂

Phillies Hangover

Yep that’s what I’ve got.  It refers to staying up late to watch the Phillies (lose) in the World Series.  I feel like crap…not unlike a real hangover.  The biggest difference is that the night before a regular hangover I get to be all crazy drunk and stuff.  Not so last night.  Annoyed and aggravated yes…wildly intoxicated no.  So now we are down 3 to 1 in the World Series.  There’s hope we’ll win tonight but even if we don’t that’s okay.

The Phillies were a scrappy team with some talent and determination who saw the trophy in their sights.  The New York Yankee’s are a bought team.  The bought all the heavy hitters and stacked the team to slaughter everyone.  Not that this is a bad thing but seriously if you stack your team so that you are so Goliath like and you lose to anybody you look like a bunch of dorks.  And every game you don’t win (hello Angels kicking Yankee ass) you look stupid for over paying the “wonder boys”.  It goes back to what Granny used to say…”No matter how much lipstick you put on a pig…it’s still a pig”.

So good luck you groovy boys from Broad Street and even if you don’t win the series we’ll love ya!

A-Rod Who?

How about them Phils!  Kicking NY buttocks and winning game one in the World Series match up.  Cliff Lee has been amazing all season but particularly awesome in the post-season.  He’s so focused and commanding that it was a joy to watch him pitch.

Chase goes downtown for 2 Homers!

The one mistake that teams make regarding the Phillies that if there are 2 outs and they are winning (not the case last night) they just count us out.  The Phillies play there best baseball with two outs…in the 9th.  We play ugly baseball but it doesn’t matter who you get the win…it’s a win.  Me I’m a big fan of #29 Raul Ibanez.  He’s amazing and quiet and did I say amazing.  Last night he looked a little shaky but once he found his rhythm he shared with the Phillies fans a nice RBI!  THANK YOUUUUUUU very much!

I’m not discounting the Yankees they do indeed have a great team with a lot of power hitting but you have heard of David and Goliath right? LOL.

Pedro Martinez has been a questionable pitcher for the Phillies but if you saw him after we clinched the NLCS you know that tonight his bringing his “A” Game downtown.  The pundits and sportscasters are down on Pedro because of the “cold” and that Pedro probably pitched well in LA because the weather was more in line for him.  I say Blah!  Pedro will feed off of his team and he will pitch well because he wants this victory.  Pedro has talent and with the support of his teammates I think he’ll bring it!

Rainy Days and Fridays Always Get Me Down

Most folks love Fridays but I’m not one of them.  No one ever has an emergency on Mondays.  In the last 30 years not once have I been frazzled on a Monday.  Fridays  are all about frazzle and I’m not a fan. Sure it sucks getting up on Monday but for me that’s the only bad part of Mondays.

Speaking of getting up for work in the morning…it totally sucks that it’s dark out when I get up in the morning too.  I feel like a bear who’s not allowed to hibernate.  So I’m just a bit crankier than usual in the morning these days.

And my sleep is all screwed up because I’ve been staying up really late to watch the Phillies kick Dodger ass so I’m all tired and stuff this week.  hopefully I’ll get some rest this weekend.  I’m just hoping I’ll be able to get back to my regular bed time of 9:30 pm when the World Series concludes.   Fingers Crossed ya’ll.

For all the  Phillies  Phans some cool dude put together this video to commemorate Jimmy Rollins helping the Phillies get the big win in Game 4 of the NLCS .

Okay people…let’s be careful out there.  DAMN THE MAN, SAVE THE EMPIRE!!!

Holy Crap

I’m so stress about tonight’s game against the LA Dodgers.  It would be so awesome if the Phillies won tonight to clinch the NLCS and take this momentum to the World Series but we have to get through tonight with a big Win!  Oh Great One please let the Phillies take it downtown tonight!  Blessed Be!

Philadelphia Phillies

So last night I was all Facebooking and stuff and my status read “I’m not walking on Sunshine”.  A gal I went to grade school with about 2 centuries ago wrote back “Well at least you’re not walking on dog crap!”.  She had a very valid point and with such eloquence.  So when I’m having a bad day this will be my new Mantra.  This of course replaces my old Mantra which was handed down from generation to generation in my family.  “Sometimes life is like a shit sandwich and everyday you take another bite.”, no lie this I got from my grandmother and she was born in the 19th century so you know it means something because it’s, like, friggin’ old!  Also it came from my Granny so it’s spiritual too.

Granny had another phrase that my Mom would use all the time when we were being Teenagers of the following variety.  “You’d give away your ass and shit through your ribs”. Mom and Granny were church going women but they also sure did know a lot about life in general.  That’s why I admired them above all other people who could have been my hero.  They were the only heroes I would or could ever need.

I have to go now…my head is now flooded with good memories that I want to marinade on.  Bye.
