2017 Summer Vacation – The Beach

This year the we were able to go to the Beach almost every day.  We missed Monday because we were “Eclipsing”, lol.

We had one windy day.  Some families made a vow to not take down their umbrella, lol.

We had a lot of dolphin sightings.  One day while we were swimming and jumping waves the dolphins were doing the same.  Jumping high in the air over the waves.  It was an amazing thing to watch.  Of course, I didn’t have my camera on me.  The best I got all week of these wonderful creatures are these:

They kind of look like sharks, lol.

I took over a thousand pictures during the course of this vacation.  I really think I could have taking a thousand more.

I even got to do some of this on the beach…

The Beach isn’t only for the daytime.  Friday nights they have a fireworks display that can be seen anywhere on the beach.

The Beach is Magical…especially at night 🙂

Yes I’m weird but I’m really okay with it.  More importantly my wife is okay with it, lol.

2017 Summer Vacation – Life on Sunset Lake

Sunsets aren’t the only cool thing on the Bay.  There is a Pirate Ship.

There are so many puppies.  It’s a dog friendly town.

This is Fred

So many things to do.  Wave Running, Tubing, Water Skiing, Kayaking and Paddle Boating.

Although, the Sunsets are AMAZING!

Loving the Bay!

2017 Summer Vacation – A Solar Eclipse and a Rainbow

Like most of our Vacations through out of the years there have been anomalies that have happened.  We’ve gone through 2 Hurricanes (Irene/Hermine), an Earthquake and now a Solar Eclipse.

Friends of ours had the “viewers” to watch the eclipse.  He took one picture thru the lens of the viewer.  The result was super exciting!  The other picture was me just pointing my camera at the sky while not looking directly at the sun, lol.  I actually caught something!

Ollie and I were ready for the big event!

The Eclipse was on Monday.  On Wednesday, we had a brief shower that produced a beautiful Rainbow.  I considered these events to be just an added bonus!  What is great is this time it was a major disaster happening, lol.  Yay for Rainbows…and unicorns, of course.

FOS Project: Yesterday’s

While on Vacation we hit Ocean City, NJ’s Yesterday’s for some lunch.  They had FOS on the menu…of course I got it.

I’ve said this before, but when a restaurant has Prime Rib on the menu the French Onion Soup is going to be amazing! (Hamburger is almost always a sure bet that it ground left over prime rib too).

This FOS has moved to the #1 spot in my book.  It was an awesome offering.  Not to salty, very beefy, very oniony and the cheese was a Provolone/Muenster combo giving it a great texture and taste.

The bread wasn’t took large as to soak up all of that tasty broth.  I could have eaten and entire pot of this French Onion Soup.  If you are in Ocean City, NJ stop by Yesterday’s for lunch or dinner.  Their food is most flavorable and delicious!

Vacation Post # 3 – People of the Beach

The beach offers an amazing time of people watching.  Sometimes they do amazing things.  Sometimes they just are fun to watch and sometimes they make for a great picture.

So many memories of excellent vacations.  And all of these people are part of my memories of a wonderful time at the Jersey Shore 2016.  Thank you all!

There was a plane celebration at the Cape May Airport so we got to see lots of vintage planes flying on the beach line.  This WWII Bomber was an amazing sight.

Flags were a big sight this year.  Many folks flew their college favors flags.

I can’t wait until I post The People of the Beach.  So many fun folks this year!
