Happy Halloween! I mean this picture can only mean that Halloween is like next month, right?
Yes…this is what I found when I went food shopping. WTH? This is just way too early people!
Yeah it finally arrived…October 1, 2015. For me it is the beginning of Halloween season. I love Autumn and Halloween! I start off every October by watching Hocus Pocus!
It is my most favorite Halloween Movie of all time and is on my top 10 list of favorite movies of all time. I loved this movie so much when it came out that I saw it 4x at the theater. I then planned my next year’s vacation around it. I went to visit Salem, Massachusetts to walk the walk of the movie sites. Allison’s house, the neighborhood, The School and park, Town Hall and the Salem Village. I LOVED IT! I loved it so much that I went back for the next two October’s to relive the fun. I also read every book I could find on the Salem Witch Trials. That was a rather nasty business but the history of it was amazing.
If you ever go to Salem for Halloween/October just remember it is their busiest tourist season. I had to make my hotel reservations 1 year in advance (this was recommended by the city website for Haunted Happenings). I stayed in the neighboring town of Danvers and loved it.
What’s my second movie to watch for Halloween Month…Why Nightmare Before Christmas of course!
Happy October Everybody!
Yesterday was Halloween. It is said it is the one day a year that the dead can rise. In Catholicism, today is All Saint’s Day. What I’m saying is that between 10/31 and 11/2 it’s all about the dead folks. So I’m sharing some personal Dead Folks with you all. Also I love old pictures.
Looking closely at this picture I noticed that my Mother had the same type of feet as her Grandmother. Weird.
And for my last photo of the no longer living….
I know that these are pictures of people I’m related too but I have no idea who they are. It’s always bothered me that I have pictures of people I don’t know but that I feel I should know. The man sitting on the right kind of looks like my Great-Grandfather. Maybe it’s his brother? I should have asked him when he came back for Halloween.
Oh well…maybe next year.
I can’t decide if I’ve missed peak season for leaf color. The People In The Know all say it’s this weekend but I kind of feel it was last weekend. Either way I wanted to get in some Autumn pictures before the Nor’Easter hits us this weekend. So I went out yesterday at lunch time and took some pictures.
The season goes so fast. Halloween is next week (YEAH) and not long after is Thanksgiving and Christmas. I feel every year swings around just a little faster. Yes I know that defies the laws of Physics but I’m talking about feelings not an actual quantitative element like time. You know…cause that’s how I roll!
I do not like spiders but they seem to love me. We’ve had a lot of rain over the last few weeks and with it being October the spiders have been everywhere. Hey I know they serve a purpose but seriously…they are creepy and I don’t like creepy.
This guy apparently thought he’d have an unauthorized party at my place and invited friends…here’s one of his pals.
On other horizons…we got to put up our Halloween directions. It’s very Halloweenie at our house so feel free to be jealous 🙂
So over the last 2 days I’ve heard the song “Mr. Sandman” by the Chordettes like 6 times. In fact, it is playing on the radio right now while I’m typing. Yesterday I was watching Halloween II and the movie opens to this song. Then it made me think of it from the movie Halloween H20 and then I was singing it in the car on the way to work. Now it’s back again…not unlike the presumed dead (x10ish) Michael Meyers.
Should I be concerned I’m being stalked indirectly by a bad representation of William Shatner who wields a large knife? Beam Me Up Jamie Lee!
Last night Bean and I went to our friend Wonder Woman’s house for dinner. The food was yummy and we played a card game and had a ton of laughs. Let’s face it Wonder Woman is fun. It was a school night and I still needed to do my homework so we left early.
On the way home we passed by this Golf Course and when I looked out over the fairway it there was this heavy fog that lingered just above the ground. It was like something out of a Halloween movie. It was beautiful and I wished I could have just stood in the middle of it all just taking it all in. The red light turned green and the moment passed. It was amazing though. The whole ride home was filled with glimpses of fog dancing here and there. One point there was a dense fog that stretched over the road in front of me. I could see the iridescent sign that signaled a sharp curve coming up and I thought of all those horror films of years gone by. Beyond the sign was a historic cemetery.
So far this has been an amazing Halloween Adventure this month!
Here are some pictures of Autumn that I took.
I can’t wait for this weekend because it’s going to be peak season from the Autumn Leaves in our area. I’m lucky to live to live in such a beautiful place 🙂
