Yesterday was 63 degrees. Today it’s Snowing. Oh March, you are a funny bunny.
I was hoping to get a picture of the cows in the snow but they were too busy eating.
This was the best I could do. I did catch the hundred or so geese who stopped in the field until the storm moves on.
It’s really pretty. The roads are wet but clear and this storm won’t be cumbersome. All in all…not a bad way to begin the weekend!
I have a disease that affects my bones and joints for the most part. It also gives me the superpower of predicting the weather. Like today, I’m all achy and fatigued. That says temperature change and precipitation of some kind.
It’s not a superpower I really want. If I could manipulate the weather, that would be a cooler superpower. Storm looked neat and she controlled the weather. It helped her fly…so that’s cool too. Although, now that I think about it I’m afraid of heights. So maybe not as cool as I thought, unless hovering two feet from the ground is considered cool.
Okay this post has spun out of control in a “you’re kinda crazy” way.
Every year my Wife sings her song called “Going to the Beach, Beach, Beach” just before we go on vacation. I love it! This year she added Chip-n-Dale’s “We’re On Vacation” song which is a kicky little ditty! Every year we have a tradition to put Bobby Rydell’s song Wildwood Days on the radio when we pull into Wildwood for Vacation. This year we sang it loudly!!!
My next couple of posts will be vacation posts. This picture starts it all off with seeing the dolphins. If you look closely you can see it just below the boat. These guys were hard to capture on camera but I did get this one picture.
The water was perfect and it was hot, hot, hot on the beach with a wonderfully refreshing breeze. Leaving it each day was so difficult. One day we stayed until almost 7 pm. Even then I didn’t want to leave it!
We had one hazy day but it made for some neat pictures.
Tomorrow I will regale you with my pictures of The People of the Beach.
The weather folks had our region in a panic with a “huge” snowstorm that was going to hit us on Sunday/Monday. They called for 10″-14″ of snow and more along the Shore locations.
What we got was about an 1-1/2″ of light puffy snow. The precipitation didn’t start at 6 pm like they predicted on Sunday. It started around 9 pm and began as rain, not snow.
It sleet for a bit and we expected to see 6-8″ of snow when we woke up but what there was on the ground hysterically less. Bean turned on the news and they said don’t worry (who was worrying?) the wraparound band of snow would produce “A HALF OF A FOOT” of snow. You know, ’cause that sounds like more that what it is…6″ of snow.
Guess what happened with the wraparound band of snow? Um…NOTHING. It gave us perhaps an additional dusting and that was it. So all of those schools that put in that they were closed the night before the impending doom wasted a day off. The smart ones waited and aired on the side of caution by calling a 2-hr. delay.
It all didn’t matter to me much since I wasn’t going to work. I was felled by a stomach virus and spent the day feeling like ick.
What a waste of money all those satellite projections, computer calculations and Street View 3000! Want the weather report…ask a farmer or look out the window. You have about the same chance of guessing what’s going to happen as the local weather guy.
So we had a Nor’easter yesterday and it wasn’t fun. It was 13″ of snow followed by Sleet then rain and then another 4″ of snow. Forecast for tomorrow…more snow.
The weather contributed to this 100 car pile up on the PA Turnpike this morning. Not so much fun for these poor folks. I must admit I am a tad bit snow weary. It’s lost its appeal for me lately. You know the saying…Too Much of a Good Thing.
Hang in there weather weary folks we are almost there….ONWARD TO SPRING!!!
First we got snow. Next came the Ice Storm. I can’t wait to see what happens with the pending Nor’Easter this weekend. Let’s go to the pictures 🙂
The commute wasn’t too bad this morning but I wasn’t any less on nerves end until I got to work.
I know that places like Buffalo, Minneapolis and what not get a billion inches of snow every year and that I should just pull my socks up but Ice…I’m not a fan of ice at all. So that is two storms down one more to go for this week, lol.
This La Nina session has proven very snowy indeed for my part of the globe. Yesterday we got an additional 9″ of snow. Driving in snow sucks. Playing in snow doesn’t…just saying.
First we experienced some freezing rain and that is what made all the heavy snow stick to the trees. The result of this was some beautiful winter scenes. I took lots of pictures. This is when I love the snow the most…when I have the time to stop and appreciate its beauty.
The downside is driving in it can be treacherous and with the heavily laden branches we lost some tree branches. Some big some, some small but it still makes walking around dangerous.
On Sunday it was almost spring like with temperatures in the low 50’s which is the polar opposite of what we are getting this week. There is another round of storms rushing our way that prove to be just as dangerous to the travelers around my burg. If you are heading out today or tomorrow be safe and use sound judgement! Good luck and Godspeed!
Two things I didn’t know about until the last minute this week. On Friday someone asked me how I was spending Super Bowl Sunday. I told her I honestly forgot that the Super Bowl was this weekend, lol. Second was the fact we were getting a snow storm of 4-8″ of snow today. It sucks because its a mess to drive in and two I had to go to work. I got stuck twice on the way into work and that was with only a couple of inches.
I like snow and most of the time do not mind driving in it but sometimes…like today…I’m not a big fan 😦
