A Movie Under The Stars

Last night I crossed off one of our summer bucket list items, outdoor Movie night.

Our Community hosts free outdoor movies at various locations around town.  Local businesses sponsor these movie nights.  Last night it was hosted at Historical Hope Lodge.  A beautiful location for sure!  We waited for dark to get the movie going and it was really cool with the Mansion sitting in the background.  Popcorn and movie…how can you go wrong.

Dark came quickly now that we are racing toward Autumn.  And the 100+ folks who gathered on the lawn applauded the start and finish of our movie.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is/was a classic.  All though Amy Farrah Fowler messed with our minds stating that regardless of what Indiana Jones did the end would have been the same and he didn’t even need to be there I still loved this picture!  Getting to watch it with my love made it even more fun!

Out With The Minions

Ever since I first saw Minions I know I needed Minions.  So I got me some Minions to help pass the time.

It was so beautiful outside yesterday that we went for a little walk in the woods.

The fresh air was amazing.

It made us all a little sleepy.  This was bad because we had to go back to work.

All in all it was a wonderful hour 🙂

Winter Time

It’s been a very mild winter thus far in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the US.  I’m not complaining mind you.  It’s not as shocking to the purse because the heat doesn’t come on every 5 seconds and we’ve had sufficient rain so far that this shouldn’t be a drought year.

On Gray days like this I force myself to get out into the open air even if it’s for 15 minutes.  Sometimes this happens…

It was an awesome 15 minutes.  I had to go back to work but I went back feeling a little more refreshed.  I do from time to time miss the snow, but today was a pretty nice.

Hello There Cool Weather…

It was in the 80’s last week and it felt more like the 90’s.  Finally after a rainstorm we got the change in temps I was hoping for and viola…Autumn was back!

This is my most favorite time of the year.  The colors are electric and the temps are comfortable.  It goes by so quickly so I’m trying to take in as much as I can before I have to wait another year for the joy it brings me.  So for now….AHHHHH!!!

P.S. Ghost Hunters starts up again tonight 9PM Syfy Channel!

The Village People Drive Big Trucks

Today I watched a crew move (very slowly) a huge transformer.  I learned many things.  One of them was it’s not “Wide Load” anymore…it’s “Oversize Load”.

This is the guy who sits on the end of the “Oversize Load”.

Hey dude hey…

It was quite a production.  They have to spin the traffic lights and there is a guy with an electric wire pole that pushes the over head wires as high as he can.

Of course traffic was backed up for several miles…

And this poor cop trying to direct traffic was forced to make faces at all of the stupid drivers who couldn’t quite get their collective acts together…

I know…how lame is my life that I think a giant transformer being transported is the coolest thing I’ve seen this week, lol.

It’s Franken-Fun!

So you know how I’m actually a child trapped in an adult’s body, right?  Oh you didn’t…well let me show you how much of child I am…

This is how you sneak up on a Frankenstein Creature…who’s name is Teddy.

And then you make the scary face and yell…GRRRRRRR…then hilarity ensues or you get punched in the noggin.

And then you all smile in good fun 😉

Like I said…I’m a child trapped in the body of an adult.  Shhh…don’t tell my wife 😉

The Lady On The Corner

She stands there shivering in the cold.  She doesn’t look up or smile.  I can only assume she’s waiting for someone to pick her up.  Since the beginning of the year I’ve seen her each work day.

She is not old.  She wears brown boots every day.  She has good posture.

It is little things like this Lady on the Corner that always grab my attention.  It’s like the birds outside my window on the wire.

They are still there and I wonder to myself why do they come there every day.  What was the story that brought them to that wire?

So Lady on the Corner I guess I’ll see you tomorrow too.  I will wonder what brought you there and where do you go from there.  You know because I apparently am quietly stalking you…but not in a creepy way.
