Nor’Easter Niko stopped by yesterday. It is extremely cold still and Niko blew most of the snow into one big pile from the gale force winds he was providing. All in all, it could have been far worse and even though I didn’t get a snow day I got out of work early. So Yay me!
Tomorrow starts a small warm up. Come on 47 degrees!!
When faced with these types of natural shut ins I of course stuffed my face and binge watched Netflix. Unlike this poor bloke.
Snow or no snow these guys are always at their posts. This friend is what dedication looks like!
I dug out some space for the dogs to roam around. Neither dog was happy with the snow. It was wet and cold and lets face it…my dogs are princesses.
We dug out on Sunday and headed back to work on Monday. It was a lot like that time I didn’t win the Powerball.
I’ve been of Irish Decent my whole life and although I’m actually American by nationality if you have an ounce of Irish blood coursing through your veins you remain always an Irishman in heart and blood! So go get a drink…kick up your heels and Kiss someone just because they are Irish!
Spring is only days away and we get warm days and then Winter is all “Hey Girl Hey”. I’m ready for spring. I’m sick of mud and salty roads and what not. Bring on the green grass, leafy trees, beautiful flowers and yes…sneezing! I’m ready for it!
Who knows, we may get another snow storm this month but at least I know it’s coming to an end, Wahoo!!!
This La Nina session has proven very snowy indeed for my part of the globe. Yesterday we got an additional 9″ of snow. Driving in snow sucks. Playing in snow doesn’t…just saying.
First we experienced some freezing rain and that is what made all the heavy snow stick to the trees. The result of this was some beautiful winter scenes. I took lots of pictures. This is when I love the snow the most…when I have the time to stop and appreciate its beauty.
The downside is driving in it can be treacherous and with the heavily laden branches we lost some tree branches. Some big some, some small but it still makes walking around dangerous.
On Sunday it was almost spring like with temperatures in the low 50’s which is the polar opposite of what we are getting this week. There is another round of storms rushing our way that prove to be just as dangerous to the travelers around my burg. If you are heading out today or tomorrow be safe and use sound judgement! Good luck and Godspeed!
So we got 13.4″ of snow in the latest storm to hit our burg. It was quite inconvenient but unless you are 8 to 12 years old that is bound to be the case. Driving in it on Tuesday was kind of sucktacular but we all made it home eventually and buckled in for an evening of snow, food and trying to get Willow to come inside during the snowstorm. Not easy as it is her favorite time of year. Corgis are built for snow 🙂
It is amazing what a couple of hours does…we went from this…
So I spent the day watching my friend the Squirrel have some fun in the snow.
It was an okay snow day for me. I hope everyone is ready for the next one 😉
Today we are having a late season snowstorm. It’s really cool. I don’t mind these kinds of snowstorms because they look beautiful but don’t really cause problems on the roads.
On Friday, I took this picture of Spring.
I thought to myself we are on our way to warmer temps…Not so fast little one…how about some more of winter.
Hurricane Sandy is getting closer. The weather folks are 24/7 on TV giving uber updates. I just look out my window for the updates. Earlier I was feeling very anxious about the whole thing but now I’m chilled and mellow. As long as a tree doesn’t fly through the window and I stay put I’m golden.
So my kitties on the East Coast. Keep dry and stay inside. The winds are howling and as Ron White said. “It’s not THAT the wind is blowin’. It’s WHAT the wind is blowin’!”
Good luck and Godspeed.
