I work with some of the funniest people ever. Case in point:
The sign says “Nothing Greasy Down The Sink”…
Is this too “greasy” for management? HA HA HA
Touche Big Tuna, touche!
War is awful. It is important to remember those who fought and died for our rights. That’s why we vote! Many Men and Women died to protect the foundation of our Freedoms.
Our Town hosts the Memorial Day Parade and Dedication.
I remember all of my family who fought and came home. I remember Staff Sgt. Larry Pierce who fought in Vietnam and didn’t survive. I remember Maj. Michael O’Donnell who fought in Vietnam in 1970 and who didn’t survive. Major O’Donnell did eventually come home in 2001 when his remains were repatriated to the United States. Major O’Donnell left behind these words…
If you are able,
save them a place
inside of you
and save one backward glance
when you are leaving
for the places they can
no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say
you loved them,
though you may
or may not have always.
Take what they have left
and what they have taught you
with their dying
and keep it with your own.
And in that time
when men decide and feel safe
to call the war insane,
take one moment to embrace
those gentle heroes
you left behind.

REMEMBER them always in your heart!
This season has been a stinker. Once the alpha males were voted off by the coalition of Dom and Wendell the game became “All Hail Dom and Wendell”. Puppy still loves Donathan who is the only one actually trying to stay in it and not just wanting to be Dom and Wendell’s third. The only saving grace is Dom and Wendell need to make moves against each other or it just become…the jury thinks one or the other was better. That’s not about playing the game, it’s a popularity contest at that point.
So far this season hasn’t had anything I would consider Epic worthy moves :(**
So I have been working on our yard this year. I’m doing a small Victory Garden.
Yes, I said Victory Garden. I was raised with parents who grew up in the depression and survived WWII. I use language like Victory Garden, Cat’s Meow and gams. I also enjoy the styling of Benny Goodman, lol.
Last year we had a really bad mosquito problem. It was our first year in the house so I had no idea what to expect until it happened. The mosquitoes were just awful and made it difficult to enjoy the deck and yard. This year I’ve planted mosquito repelling plants like Citronella, Rosemary and Marigolds. I’m also going to spray the yard with lemon juice. This should kill off a bunch of those critters in a healthy way. The dogs share the space with us so I have to stay away from things like pesticides. Wish me luck!
Last night a very nasty and vivacious storm blew through our part of town. The clouds were amazing and the subsequent rainbows (not caught on picture) were just incredible.
The rain was torrential and we missed getting any hail. The thunder and lightning were just like the storms we sometimes get in July. Very cool.
All in all, too bad. The storms didn’t deter me from voting. Got it done and the storm made it so I didn’t have to water the garden….Win Win!
Last week we went to a new place, Halligan’s Pub, for dinner. They had French Onion Soap so I ordered it.
It was good. Not as good as Rio Grande Station or Molly’s but still tasty.
We got take out so I don’t penalize them for presentation. The cheese was nicely caramelized. I would get it again when we go back.
