Mental Health Moments

Today I took 20 minutes to visit my happy place.

It’s how I keep my sanity in this crazy world of Adulthood.

My wife has given this gift of a membership to the Arboretum for the last 6 years.  Even if I can only spend as little as 10 minutes here it does so much for my soul.

The world outside of these gates is so fast paced and loud.  Inside the gates it’s blasting only color and beauty.

I know I am very lucky to have this place.  In our ever crowding world there are fewer and fewer places to have peace outside.

I feel Wicked…

We went to see Wicked last night and it was phenomenal!!!

This is my third time seeing this wonderful Musical. Our seats were so close to the stage.  The best seat I’ve ever had for anything, lol!

I really have to thank my wife for having a Birthday and wanting tickets to see this show!  Thank you love!

That Time When President Trump Made The Boy Scout Jamboree Look Like a Hitler Youth Rally

Over decades Presidents have gone to the Boy Scout Jamborees to promote strength, dedication and service.  They’ve given uplifting and inspirational speeches to the attendees.  This year our paranoid and odd President, Mr. Trump turned this event into a Hitler Youth Rally.  Talking about politics and LOYALTY.   He spoke about Healthcare and Fake News.  He even threatened to fire Secretary Tom Price if Trumpcare doesn’t pass.  He also followed some of these destructive comments with “believe me”.

Nothing he had to say was relevant to the 40,000 Boy Scouts and Leaders who came to be inspired.  I really believe that Mr. Trump thinks he’s smart.  I think that he believes the law of the land doesn’t apply to him or his family.  I believe that he hasn’t a moral compass and that this speech was wholly inappropriate.

Apparently, I wasn’t the only American appalled.  The Boy Scouts issued a statement that the President is their honorary President of the Boy Scouts and that they are not Political.

The only thing missing from his grandiose speech about how great and tremendous HE is was a story about him banging some beauty queen.

I hope the boys of America look at this moment and think…that’s not what we stand for…not even close.

It’s going to be are really long 4 years 😦

Merry Christmas…in July

We decided to celebrate Christmas in July this year.

We went to Byers Choice and the National Christmas Center.

Byers Choice had lots of places to take photos beyond the exhibits.  This was a dress up area with costumes and a Christmas background to take pictures in your dress up 🙂

It was so hot that Byers Choice had the local fire department come out with the hose to cool the kiddies down.

It was such a fun time.  I got to see so many of my favorite beings (elves) and relive a little bit of my childhood 🙂

A Beautiful Weekend

What an amazing weekend.  I’m tired but it was worth it.  The sun was shining, it was warm (86 degrees) and very low humidity!  Hurrah!  Our friends let us use their pool this weekend while they were away so that just added to the greatness of the weekend 🙂

I got to finish the book I was reading and start a new one.  It is turning into the summer of “Murder, She Wrote”, lol.  I enjoy Jessica Fletcher…it’s a weakness 🙂

Millie and Tara enjoyed the sun pool side too.  Tara’s not a fan of the water (or any water for that matter) but they both had a quick dip in the cement pond.

To top off the festivities we decided to make our own pizza.  Pizza Bagels are the best.  Who knew.  They were so yummy!  It’s definitely the way to go!  Now it’s time for a little rest but wow! what a weekend 🙂

p.s. Yes I know my grammar is atrocious.  It’s part of my charm 🙂
