Mental Illness Isn’t A Weakness

I’m so tired of people saying horrible things about someone who is depressed or suffers from a form of mental illness.  It’s not their fault.  It’s not a weakness of character.  They can’t just snap out of it because you say so.  They need help not judgement.

If you don’t suffer from depression.  Be thankful for that.  It’s crippling and scary.  It makes you think about things that you wouldn’t normally think about.  People who suffer from other forms of mental illness such as schizophrenia can’t control what is happening to them without medication.  Some of these people don’t take the meds because they either can’t afford the treatment or they feel like they are drowning from what the meds do to them.

Take a second and read up on mental illness before you judge another person.
